Overview
Koops Automation Systems — a custom automation manufacturer headquartered in West Michigan — was ready to grow their machine shop with a 15,000 SF fabrication space. The new addition includes two full-length overhead cranes, two dock doors, and a grade-level door.
Construction took place right alongside active operations, allowing Koops to continue unloading and shipping products without disruption. Despite unique crane rail specifications and long building lead times, our problem solving and design-build approach kept the project on track — and even delivered it ahead of schedule.
As a returning Lakewood client, Koops praised our open-book arrangement and the strong partnership that developed throughout the build. We constantly found the Koops team hanging out in the jobsite trailer enjoying some laughs with the Lakewood crew- a true testament to a great partnership!
