Police Academy Buildout

Overview

When a satellite campus sat unused after COVID-19, the dream was to transform the space into a new, state of the art police academy. The project included a 30,000 SF renovation of the existing facility and a new 4,500 SF addition. Former science labs became mat rooms for training, old classrooms turned into scenario rooms, and an open study space was reimagined as a multipurpose room.

The upgrades didn’t stop there — a new driving test track, expanded men’s and women’s locker rooms, a dedicated mother’s room, and additional restrooms rounded out the new addition.

Despite permitting delays through the State of Michigan, our team was able to stay vigilante on scheduling to meet the client’s “start-of-school” deadline.
