Overview
Growing demand for urgent care along the lakeshore prompted Holland Hospital to expand their services while at the same time, introduce a new healthcare concept to enhance the patient experience.
The renovation and remodeling of this space incorporated the concept of the “fish bowl” practice model, a centralized nursing station is encircled by exam rooms. This concept allowed the hospital to expand from 12 rooms to 15 and provided 3 additional rooms for future growth. The nursing station is also home to a 110-gallon fresh water aquarium.
The lobby/receptionist area is situated so as to allow natural light to filter into the space. Other ancillary spaces within the building include an X-ray room and office space.
