Overview

Georgetown Township not only needed a new library to replace their aging space, but they wanted to create a central hub where the community could come together, meet new friends, explore new opportunities, and discover the joy of learning. As their trusted construction and build partner, the Township looked to Lakewood to make their dream a reality. While the project faced tight logistical challenges, timelines, and space constraints, Lakewood choreographed every step of the process to ensure complete success. Now a vibrant hub for the entire community, The Georgetown Public Library demonstrates what a local community can do with limited resources and the right partner.

“Lakewood has been a longstanding partner with Georgetown Township, and we are grateful for the work that they have done in our community. When we brought them on to help with the Library, they ended up coming in on-time and under-budget. They’re good communicators, great at watching your bottom line, great at involving people in the process that should be involved, and have always advocated for what’s best for the Township.”

—Jim Wierenga, Georgetown Township Board Supervisor
