Overview

SoundOff Signal, a leading manufacturer of emergency vehicle lighting, sirens, and electronic warning systems, is renowned for its cutting-edge products and technology- and is rapidly growing every year. To meet the needs of their growing staff, they decided to expand their office space by building out their empty mezzanine area. When deciding who to work with, Lakewood’s record of proven excellence and strong partnerships made it an easy choice.

The mezzanine space, originally intended for storage needs, was turned into new offices, meeting rooms, and collaborative space. While building, we worked hard to ensure that the floor space remained extremely clean so as not to impact operations. Building in an occupied space brings the challenge of multiple moving parts. While creating new office space for over 60 people in the expansion, the current personnel had to be moved around. The old offices were then built out to increase optimization and make room for SoundOff Signal’s increasing employment numbers.

SoundOff Signal’s emphasis on collaboration inspired a lot of the design process, and heavily influenced their choice to design-build. With 4 new meeting rooms overlooking the floor, the office staff can actually see the people and products that they are discussing which helps blend the gap between roles.
